Water Regulation Courses
Under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, Water Companies can appoint Approved Contractors (sometimes called Approved Plumbers) for the area they cover. Holding a BPEC/WRAS Certificate should prove that your knowledge of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 is good enough for you to become an Approved Contractor provided you meet the other criteria laid down by the Water Companies. What are the advantages of becoming an approved contractor? Approved Contractors do not need to notify certain installations which Non-Approved Contractors must notify. Water Companies will compile a list of Approved Contractors, which the general public will use, and it is possible that Local Authorities and Housing Associations will insist that plumbing contractors are Approved Contractors.
